We cannot solve the COVID crisis without international cooperation

There is no choice between economy or health or morality or efficiency, Europe or Africa, the United Kingdom or the European Union, there is an absolute necessity to all cooperate. If the Titanic sinks, the passengers locked in their comfortable first class cabin will sink with the others.

Second wave is coming, the speed race has started

Two new variants of concern (VOC) have arisen in the last few weeks. The situation is clearly evolving into a second wave with VOCs with the potential to wreak much greater havoc than the first wave.

Flattening the curve and waiting for the vaccination cannot cope with the replication speed of the new variants, not to mention unknown variants to come.

At the moment, the few countries that choose an eradication policy are the only ones doing more or less OK. They are OK from a medical point of view, but still reeling from an economical point of view because of the raging pandemic abroad.

It has never been clearer that the only way out will be through international cooperation, via the reduction of the circulation of the virus, both at home and abroad, with the aim of eradicating the virus.

In 4 weeks, the overall number of cases increased tenfold. The situation in France is evolving favorably, with a slight decrease in deaths. Given the incubation times and the time it takes for the disease to develop, this is normal, but there is still a long way to go.

We believe the eradication of the coronavirus is possible

If we do not eradicate the coronavirus, we will have to live with this new virus that threatens to weaken our open societies to a point that will lead us to the collapse feared by Jared Diamond.
